David began his career in investment banking at Nomura where he focused on supporting M&A transactions. He worked on a number of key cross border deals advised on by the bank, including Panasonic’s acquisition of Hussman. David then went to join Goldman Sachs as an associate working in the natural resources investment banking group. During his time at GS, David focused on the metals & mining and chemicals verticals. Two key transactions he worked on were Peabody Energy’s 2017 bankruptcy exit financing, and Big River Steel’s 2017 inaugural public debt transaction.
After spending ~4 years in investment banking, David pursued a career in public market investing. David’s last two roles included ~3.5 years at Interval Partners where he covered stocks across the consumer sector, and ~2.5 years at Moore Capital Management where he focused on the tech and consumer sectors.
As a founding partner of KTRV David will look to bring his unique blend of advisory and investing experience to analyze potential investment opportunities.
David is also the proud husband to Arielle Kestenbaum/Tradburks and father to their 3 boys. Arielle and David are deeply involved in multiple local and international charity organizations.
Jordan has been working in the metals and mining industry for over 10 years and represents a 3rd generation in the industry. He currently serves as a director of Marco International Corporation, a leading company in the metals and mining trading, distribution, and financing business. Jordan leads Marco's efforts in providing working capital financing solutions specifically for the metals and mining industry. To date, Marco has provided over $500mm in combined facilities to the coal, ferrous and non-ferrous industries.
As a founding partner of KTRV Jordan will look to leverage his trading, financing and distribution background to lead the marketing, strategy and M&A efforts to KTRV’s portfolio companies.
Jordan is also the proud husband to Riva Kestenbaum and father to their 2 boys and 2 girls. Jordan and Riva currently reside in NYC where they are active participants in local organizations and charities.
KTRV closed on the acquisition of Heritage Coal & Natural Resources in early 2024, representing our first transaction.
Founded in 2008, Heritage Coal has been operating for over 15 years in Pennsylvania and Maryland. We believe that the coal mining industry has a bright future and remains an integral part of the fabric of American industry.
Our intent as we embark on this new phase for Heritage is to steward the Company with a commitment to the values emblematic in the Heritage name. To us that means running operations that are quality focused, effective, and efficient, while supporting the safety and well-being of our colleagues. It also means being a committed and involved member of the local communities in which we operate.
